Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference

Located in Norfolk, Va., the MEAC is made up of eight outstanding historically black institutions across the Atlantic coastline: Coppin State University, Delaware State University, Howard University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina Central University and South Carolina State University.

The MEAC sponsors 14 Division I (FCS) sports: women's bowling, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, football, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track & field, softball and volleyball. The MEAC receives automatic NCAA qualification bids in seven sports – men's and women's basketball, women's bowling, men's and women's tennis, softball and volleyball. The MEAC's football champion is pitted against the champion of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) in the Cricket Celebration Bowl, which debuted in December 2015.

Headquartered in Birmingham, Ala., the SWAC is made up of 12 historically black institutions across the Southern United States: Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University, Alcorn State University, Bethune-Cookman University, Florida A&M University, Grambling State University, Jackson State University, Mississippi Valley State University, Prairie View A&M University, Southern University, Texas Southern University and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

The SWAC sponsors 18 Division I (FCS) sports, including men's baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, indoor track, outdoor track & field and tennis, as well as women's basketball, bowling, cross country, golf, indoor track, outdoor track & field, soccer, softball, volleyball and tennis. The SWAC's football champion faces the champion of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in the Cricket Celebration Bowl, which debuted in December 2015.

Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association

Located in Charlotte, N.C., the CIAA is made up of 12 historically black institutions spanning the East Coast from Pennsylvania to South Carolina: Bluefield State University, Bowie State University, Claflin University, Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, Johnson C. Smith University, Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, Livingstone College, Shaw University, Virginia State University, Virginia Union University and Winston-Salem State University.

The CIAA sponsors 14 Division II championships, including men's and women's basketball, women's bowling, men's and women's cross country, football, golf, men's and women's indoor track and field, men's and women's outdoor track and field, softball, volleyball and women's tennis. Founded in 1912 on the campus of Hampton Institute (now Hampton University), the CIAA is the oldest African-American athletic conference in the United States.

Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference

Headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., the SIAC is made up of 15 member institutions located within a contiguous seven-state footprint in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee: Albany State University, Allen University, Benedict College, Central State University, Clark Atlanta University, Edward Waters University, Fort Valley State University, Kentucky State University, Lane College, LeMoyne-Owen College, Miles College, Morehouse College, Savannah State University, Spring Hill College and Tuskegee University.

The SIAC sponsors championships in 14 sports, including eight for men — baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, tennis, track and field and volleyball — and six for women — basketball, cross country, softball, tennis, track and field and volleyball. Founded in 1913, the SIAC is one of the nation's oldest HBCU athletic conferences, with Clark Atlanta University and Tuskegee University among its two continuously tenured members since the conference's inception.
